The Bright Lights [Have Always Blinded Me] ××× for xogeneration
Written for: xogeneration (AFF)
Title: The Bright Lights [Have Always Blinded Me]
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 14.6k
Summary: Lu Han lives out his idol life unapologetically as his manager tries to keep him in check.
Warning/s: brief Lu Han/Jongin, mentions of multiple past relationships
Author's Note: I sincerely hope this is close to what you were hoping for. I had a lot of fun moments writing this wonderful prompt despite my constant complaining. Also, thank you to A for perfecting it and to everyone who pushed me to get through it in one piece.

There’s a vein in Jongdae’s neck that tends to stick out noticeably when he’s attempting to contain his anger and Lu Han sees it appear just before Jongdae folds his arms across his chest, hip cocked.

THIS
This story!
I have so much to say about this! And at the same time I don't know how! /wails
This was such a complex story, not because it was complicated, but because of the things it made me feel.
Luhan, for instance. L U H A N ! ! ! I'm actually pretty sure that I didn't like him, but at the same time I think I really loved him as a character. (Does that make sense? I'm probably not making sense orz) Somehow you managed to portray him as immature and sorta naive, but at the same time there was a determination and experience to his actions and I don't even know how you did that, but it worked. He was an amazing main character and the tension, sometimes-hostility, sometimes-something-entirely-different between him and Jongdae had me at the edge of my seat throughout this entire story. The volatile dynamic between them, Jongdae's refusal to put up with Luhan's bullshit, Luhan's determination to convince Jongdae he was actually serious and the almost fleeting glimpses of vulnerability in both of them were what really pushed the story for me. (And now that I'm rereading this I'm not sure if this actually sounds like the compliment it's supposed to be. But it is one! A gigantic one, actually!) I'm just so in love with the characterization here. Not just Luhan and Jongdae, but Kyungsoo and Jongin and Baekhyun as well. Their appearances aren't extensive, but you managed to paint them so vividly, so distinctively with so little 'screen-time' and I'm just x__x HOW TO WRITE LIKE THAT?!

Basically I'm just really in love with this entire story and your wonderfully imperfect characters. I had the most amazing time reading this!

(Also I have to mention this because... I just have to mention this. Bless you for top!Luhan AND top!Jongdae. Switching makes me so blissfully happy! (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧)
